We have loads of pallets to give away. If you live anywhere near us and can fit a pallet or ten in your car, please stop by!

I had a lot of fun attempting to make a vertical strawberry garden. We’d love to see photos of what you make.

Please note that we need to prepare the pallets, so we may not be able to provide them if you come to us unexpectedly.

First I covered the back of the pallet with a weed suppressing sheet, to stop the soil from falling out of the back.

それでは、以前弊社で作ったパレットイチゴ畑の写真をご紹介しますね。写真の様にパレットを縦に利用してイチゴを育てました。

まず、パレットの裏側に防草シートを貼り、裏側から土が落ちないようにします。

As this was a vertical pallet I made the bottom extra strong.

このとき使用したのは縦長のパレットなので、底面を補強しました。

Next I filled with soil and plants and left to settle for a couple of weeks.

次に土と植物を入れ、2週間ほどそのままにしてなじませます。

When the plants were established I tipped the pallet vertically and propped with a handy stick to stop it falling over.

If I were to do this again I think I’d either make little pockets in each row or cover the front of the pallet too to stop the soil from eroding.

苗が定着したら、パレットを垂直に倒し、棒で支えて倒れないようにしました。

もしまたやる時があったら、各列に小さなポケットを作るか、パレットの前面も覆うと土がこぼれ落ちていくのが少なくすむかなと思いまいた。

A couple of months later, beautiful strawberries, untouched by snails and slugs.

Watering the bottom rows is tricky. Perhaps propping at more of a backwards angle would have helped (the bottom became very dry).

You can also just leave flat on the floor if you have space, though this makes it easier snacking for the slugs.

数ヶ月後、カタツムリやナメクジに食べられることなく、キレイなイチゴが実りました。

下の段の水やりはちょっと難しいかったので、もっと後ろに倒した角度で支えるとよかったかもしれません（下の方がとても乾燥します）。

スペースがあれば、床に平らに置くこともできますが、そうするとナメクジに食べられちゃうので傾斜はあった方がいいですね。
